Eastern Region GSTEP Teams Present Final Prototype
The Ghana Science and Tech Explorer Challenge Prize (GSTEP) Eastern Regional Pitching and Judging Event brought together bright young minds from across the region at the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Hall on the 3rd June 2025, where they showcased their innovative solutions to community problems.
With a strong emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), students presented prototypes that tackled issues ranging from agricultural inefficiencies, water pollution, safety to energy sustainability. The competition was marked by enthusiasm, creativity, commitment, and teamwork among participants to use STEM as a tool for positive change.
The judges commended the ingenuity and practicality of many of the projects, noting that the students had clearly identified genuine needs within their communities and developed innovative solutions. Some teams received constructive feedback to help refine their ideas further, while others were recognized for their advanced thinking and execution.
In addition to the pitching session, students participated in entrepreneurship and career development workshops. These sessions provided valuable insights into transforming their ideas into business ventures and planning future careers in STEM or other related fields.
GSTEP is aiding these young champions to contribute to national development through innovation and critical thinking.
To build practical STEM skills of these students, the challenge is helping Junior High School (JHS) students to develop innovative products that benefit local communities.
Don’t miss the chance to witness the creativity and innovation on the 16th and 17th July at the GSTEP Awards and Exhibition happening live at the National Theatre in Accra.
