Ashanti Region Leads with 23 Teams at the 2026 GSTEP Induction
On 25th February, the Ashanti Region hosted the largest induction of the 2026 GSTEP Challenge at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bomsu, welcoming 23 finalist teams into the next phase of the competition, the highest number across all participating regions.
The induction blended learning with interaction, featuring sessions on entrepreneurship, finance, budgeting, business planning, intellectual property, and marketing communications, and STEMPlosion.
Teams learned how to estimate costs and decide how best to use their available resources when planning finances and budgets. In the business planning sessions, they also learned how to clearly define the value of their ideas and structure them into practical, sustainable business models that can work in real life.
These sessions encouraged students to focus on building solutions that are both practical and sustainable.
They were encouraged to think beyond their ideas and focus on developing solutions that are practical, sustainable, and impactful.
Mr. Isaac Ankuma, the Ashanti Regional GES representative, noted that with the region having the highest number of teams in this year’s challenge, they must strive to emerge as the top winners. He encouraged the teams to put their best foot forward.
For teachers, STEM coordinators, and mentors, and coaches, the induction provided an opportunity to strengthen their capacity to guide the teams.
Sessions on leadership and emotional intelligence emphasized the importance of nurturing not only skills, but also confidence and resilience among teams.
