The 2025 GSTEP Industry Visit in the Ashanti Region offered a learning experience as 20 finalist teams engaged directly with Ghana’s premier science and technology institution, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

It was a dynamic exchange between the next generation of STEM innovators and the experts shaping Ghana’s technological future.

Students, teachers, and STEM Coordinators toured key departments within KNUST’s College of Engineering and College of Science, including the Physics, Optometry, Biological Science, Biochemistry, and Computer Science labs, as well as practical engineering workshops.

Through hands-on demonstrations and guided walkthroughs, students explored real-life applications of design thinking, sustainable innovation, and product development. These experiences helped bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice, giving the teams renewed perspective and direction for refining their prototypes ahead of the GSTEP 2025 Pitching and Judging events.

The visit reinforced the relevance of STEM in solving local problems and inspired bold thinking and empowered these young changemakers to dream beyond limits.
