Twenty (20) Youth Steering Group (YSG) Ambassadors have graduated from the 2026 GSTEP Youth Ambassadors Program at a ceremony held on 8th July 2026 at the AKNAC Hotel in Accra.

The graduates, selected from the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern and Volta Regions, successfully completed months of training, mentorship and practical activities designed to help them support the Ghana Science and Tech Explorer Challenge Prize (GSTEP) program, build leadership skills, and take on leadership roles in their schools and communities.

During the one-year program, the ambassadors participated in masterclasses and mentorship training in communication, public speaking, teamwork, community engagement, entrepreneurship, project management, and monitoring and evaluation. They also worked
closely with the GSTEP team during the 2026 Challenge period, supporting activities in their regions and engaging with teams and schools.
Speaking at the ceremony, Constance Agyeman, Founder of GSTEP, congratulated the ambassadors and encouraged them to continue using the skills they had gained to inspire other young people.
“I am proud of each of you for the commitment you have shown throughout this programme. You have grown in confidence, learned how to work with others, and taken on responsibilities that many young people shy away from. I encourage you to keep leading, keep learning, and continue encouraging other young people to explore STEM and believe in their own potential.”

The graduation ceremony brought together parents, guardians, mentors and members of the GSTEP consortium to celebrate the achievements of the ambassadors and celebrate their successful completion of the 2026 YSG Program.
Although the 2026 YSG program has officially ended, the ambassadors will continue promoting STEM education, supporting community initiatives, and encouraging more young people to take advantage of opportunities in STEM.
The YSG Ambassador program forms part of GSTEP’s vision to build a network of young people who can contribute positively to their communities while helping them grow their interest in STEM
