Suzzy Smith Mensah

I am currently a UI/UX designer . From a non-tech background, I hold a keen desire and passion as I transition into the tech space.

I have 3 years of experience in Graphic Design and less than a year in UI/UX design.

I consider myself a ‘forever student,’ eager to build both on my technical and academic capabilities. My hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action has contributed to the skills I currently have.

I am a person who has a high passion for design technologies and that influenced my transition into graphic designing. I love working on projects that start with an idea and always end with amazing output and satisfaction. I currently work as a freelance graphic designer and UI/UX designer; I’m always interested in a challenge.

previous mentorship experience

I am a GSTEP mentor because...

Although I wanted to work in the tech industry, I didn’t know exactly what to do. Developing software or websites, user interface designs, animations, etc. intrigued me. I had no mentor to help me determine which of these areas piqued my attention. I went into learning numerous programming languages, how to do animation, building user interfaces, etc., until I was able to choose what my area of interest is. Instead of spending all this time learning other things, I might have spent it pursuing my interests and becoming an expert in them. I’ve decided to participate in the GSTEP Mentoring Program in in order to assist anyone who is unsure on what to do
