Olivia Serwaa Opare

Director, Science Education Unit, GES

Mrs. Olivia Opare is a Science Educationist and a Women Empowerment enthusiast.

As the current Director of Science Education Unit, Ghana Education Service, she sees to the initiation of effectiveness in practical Science at the Pre tertiary level of education.

Alongside, she has represented the country in international programs concerning STEM/STEAM Education. 

She has supervised several STEM project developments for students all over the country during STMIE camps.

previous mentorship experience

Mentorship program for both JHS and SHS during Robotics club meetings, STEM camps, Ghana Science Olympiad, seminars and conferences.

I am a GSTEP mentor because...

To serve as a mentor and again to assist learners to understand that STEM education is all about Doing, which will eventually help learners to develop their full potentials through their inherent knowledge and skills. Again, help present the creativity, critical thinking, innovation, communication and collaboration, and the self-determination skills learners would gain in STEM education.
