The 2025 Ghana Science & Tech Explorer Prize (GSTEP) Awards Ceremony, held on July 17 at the National Theatre in Accra, celebrated the innovative ideas of our 50 finalist teams and 7 perseverance teams.
Distinguished guests attended the event, including Hon. Clement Apaak, Deputy Minister for Education; Dr. Munauaru Issahaque, Deputy Director General for GES; and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Former Minister for Education. Representatives from the Ghana Education Service, the Ministry of Education, AngloGold Ashanti, Fidelity Bank, Melcom, Special Ice, Stanbic Bank, UNICEF and key industry stakeholders were also present.
Twenty-two awards were presented, with The Technocrafts Innowear from Services Primary and JHS (Greater Accra Region) taking home the top prize as overall winners. Other notable awardees included SCI-G from the Eastern Region (1st Runner-Up), Team Eco-Fuel Agenda from the Ashanti Region (2nd Runner-Up), The Technocrafts_SafetySense Engineering (Best Pitch), ReadEase (Most Innovative Idea), and Pacesetters (Best In Applied Science).
