What is the GSTEP Challenge?
The Ghana Science and Tech Explorer Prize (GSTEP) Challenge is a unique opportunity for young people to learn more about innovation, entrepreneurship and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). It presents a new and exciting way for young people to engage with Science and Technology through practical learning, developing skills such as problem-solving, presentation skills, communication, teamwork and entrepreneurship skills.
The GSTEP Challenge provides all of the resources to take part, including lesson plans to support the application process, and additional training and mentorship for finalist teams.
Judging Events have ended for Year 2 of the GSTEP Challenge program. After seven weeks of intensive research, brainstorming, collaborative efforts, and building of prototypes, 50 finalist teams pitched their ideas to a panel of judges.
The Judging Events came off on the 24th and 25th of November 2022 in the Greater Accra region, and on the 30th of November and 1st of December, 2022 in the Ashanti Region.
The next phase of the Challenge is the Exhibition & Awards Ceremony where all 50 finalist teams will exhibit their prototypes to the general public and winners of the Challenge will be awarded.
