GSTEP Final Prototype Pitching Wraps Up in Ashanti Region
The Ashanti Region edition of The Ghana Science and Tech Explorer Challenge Prize (GSTEP) Regional Pitching Event was held at the Latter Day Saints Church in Bomso on 5th June, 2025, where the teams from various schools presented their STEM-based prototypes aimed at solving local challenges.
The teams exhibited a wide range of inventions designed to address issues such as pedestrian and road accidents, health, agriculture, natural disasters, renewable energy. Many of the projects depicted deep research and technical proficiency, which truly impressed the judges.
The pitching sessions were moments of excitement as students confidently explained the functionality, impact, and scalability of their innovations. Judges offered encouraging words and practical advice, emphasizing the importance of refining prototypes to ensure they meet user needs effectively.
Participants also benefited from mentorship and career guidance sessions, which helped them understand how to develop their ideas into sustainable enterprises and pursue STEM and other related careers.
The Ashanti Region event concluded on a high note, with all involved expressing optimism about the future of innovation in Ghana. With continued support, these young inventors are well on their way to becoming leaders in Ghana’s technological and entrepreneurial landscape.
Since its inception, GSTEP has empowered 31,488 students and has ignited their passion for practical STEM learning for the betterment of their societies.
